I tried Tpewriter at one point, but it was too hard to hit both buttons at once. Default never really felt right. Shoulders works for me.

Was there another thread for this? Who cares, I like polls.

Definitely shoulders for me, Being able to flick one or both thumsticks to switch tracks quickly sold it for me.

I have been using Default but it's just not working for me. I might turn out to be Freakish.

Default is okay but not reliable. My finger will often slip off the D-pad. Tried Freakish, which I liked, but my left finger was cramping up for some reason - something about that positioning is a problem for me. Will try Shoulders next time I play and see if that's an improvement. Typewriter just doesn't seem practical. I wish there was a custom option.

Sure you can. Use the shoulder buttons or the triggers to play notes; use the thumbsticks or the d-pad to switch lanes. Unless that's not the shoulders config.
