THAT was ugly. Hate to say it because the things he did at the beginning of his time to get us to the top of the mountain (in terms of recruiting, politicking, working with high school coaches and treatment of the media) are undeniable, but it's time for Mack Brown to go. No more coordinators or positional coaches to blame... The attitude of the team rests squarely on his shoulders and they just aren't getting it done anymore. 63-21 against your biggest rival just won't cut it at Texas.

Still not sure how the Seahawks came back from behind by 13 to beat New England, but I'm glad that it happened.

Fitting that the Seahawks come back to win on the day that they retire Cortez Kennedy's jersey number.

It always amazes me that UT isn't a top 10 team every year with the cash, support, and players they can get.

They have 20 more MILLION dollars than the next athletic department in revenue every year.

I actually feel good about playing UT this year, that usually means we are going to lose. In 04 after whipping Nebraska 70-10 many felt it would be a good game against UT, and that ended up being Vince Young's coming out party.

Anywho. All I know is after playing OU and WVU, Tech has the #4 defense in the country. Last to #4. Miracles CAN happen?

@wreckem: yeh.. I'm pretty sure you guys should take care of us pretty easily. The only team I have even the slightest bit of confidence we might beat is Kansas... Pretty sad, no? Anyway, this article sums it best if your interested in reading....

Oh, and btw, great job against WVU...very impressive showing.

    That was an interesting article.

Yeesh. I didn't realize he was 6-13 in that span of games. A part of me thinks the new OC could help turn it around when he gets his guys in, but I don't know all that much about how hes been since hes been there.

I say this all the time. There are two coaches who are unparalleled in their ability to do less with more. Mark Richt is one, but Mack Brown is head-and-shoulders above even him. Brown could not visit a single home, make a single call, or really do anything and still pull in a top-ten class. Half the elite players in Texas automatically go to UT. The money they make is just absurd. There is NO EXCUSE for winning fewer than 10 games in a season this far into his tenure.

Brown needed to go after 2010. Muschamp would have taken over rather than leaving for Florida and the program would be on the right track, like Florida is. No way a Muschamp defense gets slaughtered by West Virginia and Oklahoma. All that stock Manny Diaz got last year? Gone.

My nightmare scenario is one of the annual Saban-to-Texas rumors coming true. They would play for the national championship every year. Luckily, Saban isn't looking for money at this point in his career.

NFL: I was so enamored with the 49ers' defense and play style (they've really bought into the "win with cruelty" mantra) I forgot Alex Smith was still the quarterback. I wonder if Indy would have to franchise Luck to keep him in a few years. It will be tempting to potentially play for Harbaugh again.

I don't realistically see Saban ever leaving Alabama to go anywhere but back to the NFL again. Maybe Jerry Jones will come calling this offseason after he fires Jason Garrett.
