Unfortunately for me, I can't hold a Jackpot combo with switching involved for the life of me. I may be forever handicapped in that department...

Yeah, I'm convinced that 99% of the time a good Jackpot/Flame run is the killer combo (short of some kind of superhuman pinball run.) There have been plenty of times where things didn't go perfectly in a run...I either made a stupid mistake and broke a Jackpot, or I just plain got unlucky in where exactly the flames spread or having the Jackpot activation delay rob me of several flame hits under Jackpot, but even in those cases I have often still found myself at the top of the leaderboard, and occasionally by a wide margin. The 3X multiplier on Flame Notes, especially on those times when you're hitting many of them in a row, is just unbelievable.

If you're having trouble switching lanes with Jackpot, here's a tip for you: try to get in the habit of switching lanes exactly as a note in the adjacent line is hitting the strike line. What constantly gets people on this is the fact that the game enforces the back end of the timing window even on notes that are no longer visible. This is especially problematic when you're in Blitz mode and the track is zoomed in.

Let's say you're on the guitar track and there's a Flame Note on bass coming up. Just play the guitar track as normal, and keep an eye on the flame note. Just as the flame note is right next to you, switch to the bass track and hit the note basically at the same time. If you get in the habit of only switching when you either know the coast is completely clear, or when you have a note to hit immediately after you switch, it's amazing how much you can cut down on those Jackpot drops.
