    Michael Clarke Duncan, rip

Michael Clarke Duncan, nominated for an Academy Award for his role in the 1999 film "The Green Mile," has died at age 54, according to a representative for his family.

Duncan "suffered a myocardial infarction on July 13 and never fully recovered," a written statement from Joy Fehily said.

Clarke died at a Los Angeles hospital where he had been since having the heart attack more than seven weeks ago.

Man, I loved him in The Green Mile, as well as other movies I know I've probably seen him in. I'll miss him.

An actor who faltered in the last five or six years, but I always loved his performances even if the films he was in were less than entertaining or quality to me. A real sad shame he went out when he was in the middle of a few projects, too.

RIP. Not only was he a good actor, he was one of those guys that stuck with it after years of not being as successful at acting as he wanted to be.

He didn't start acting until his 30's. He gave up being a a successful bodyguard to take a shot at acting.

I remember him from School for Scoundrels. The movie was bad, but it was entertaining.
