I think the moral of the story is outside of some minor variation, a good player will generally get a good score regardless of the random element. Occasionally, the random element my greatly effect the score (particularly folks using Pinball), but in general, it will work itself out.

That said, it doesn't make the coin system more appealing.

They can make a several hundred thousand point different on single lane songs due to when you can activate the Pinball.

In the post right above yours, I mentioned they were an outlier.

Nearly every game ever played by man has had elements of chance involved. Some more than others. The best players in any of those games are the ones who can best plan for and react against chance working against them, and to change up their game plan when chance works in their favor.

I'd recommend chess if you want a game with absolutely no random chance. Otherwise, I'd get used to dealing with its presence.
