Can't connect to Xbox live to play Rock Band Blitz

I purchased the game and everytime i load in i get disconnected from xbox live. After the title screen it loads my DLC and prompts that i have to play in online mode. Pressing the guide button brings up the menu to connect to live but it will not work, this appears to be the only game affected.

Have you tried deleting the game and redownloading it?

Yes i also tried removing my router from the equation and plugging directly into the modem in case it was a network issue and still no go
