Score Wars: How long to wait?

I decided to challenge my friend to a Score War via Rock Band World yesterday. Posted a challenge for Number of the Beast, and played immediately after. While Blitz has registered by score for the song and that score and associated goal progress have been noted in the game, the score never appeared in the score war.

Is there a waiting period between when I can request a score war and when I can actually play the song? Do I need to wait for my opponent to play before I can take my "turn?" If you can let me know what your experience has been, it would probably make my experience a little less frustrating. I love the integration, but want to make sure that I do everything I can on my end to make it work properly.

You can just play the song like normal. You have to go to your messages window/pane/sections/whatever in Blitz and find the score war you just made and play the song through that.
