What do you do when a large insect enters your room?

Only thing I get in my house are spiders and crickets. The crickets get a second chance outside. The spiders are not so lucky.

made the most epic drum fill ever trying to squish him.

That's nothing. One time I was doing vocals in a full online band and a spider dropped from the ceiling and landed on my face. I don't freak out when I SEE spiders and other bugs, but when they're suddenly crawling on my bare flesh around my eyes, nose, and mouth, I make it a priority to get rid of them.

Me, I've gotten quite good at the catch-and-release. I've got a cup and a paper towel that I use for nothing else (and yes, sometimes I do have to remind myself DO NOT USE THIS CUP FOR DRINKING). Put the cup over the bug as it bounces against the wall, slide the paper under the cup, and take both pieces outside. That way the disgusting little creature can be where he belongs -- outside.

I freak out for a sec, find something that will obliterate it in one go without having me touch it, and then SMASH SMASH SMASH until it's gone or I make myself look like an ass by missing.

Wasps/Hornets/Bees - On, or inside the house - Dead.
Centipedes/Millipedes - Catch and release.
Scorpions - On, or inside the house - Dead.
Praying Mantises - Welcome, in our out.
Grasshoppers - Catch and release.
June Bugs - Dead all around.

spiders, I let live because I had ants around the month of may. And spiders took care of our ant problem.

Other than that, I don't think we have anything else...

lol, my cat just looks at them and doesn't interact at all with them. Flies are another story though.
