They probably lied to investors with the same double speak they used to manipulate the very few consumers. "Hey we have this idea for a music game where you use a real guitar!" Problem is the investors don't know they're funding a game that neither teaches nor actually has you play the song with any recognizable value as you only play power chords. Oh and the interface sucking didn't help.

You know, I don't have a lot of friends that play rhythm games, but whenever I tell my non-rhythm-gaming friends about Power Gig, it always ends with us laughing hysterically.

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/11/28/ar...s/28video.htmlSeven45’s sister company, First Act, is a musical instrument maker in the Back Bay (and yes, 745 Boylston is the address of both companies). Jeff Walker of Seven45 told me the companies share some executives and other resources, and that Seven45 has been entirely self-funded, without outside capital.
Truly an inspiring story of what not to do if you have $30 million to spend.Bernard Chiu, chairman of the musical instrument company First Act, fully understands this. Over the last several years his company has invested more than $30 million to develop the first music video game that uses a real electric guitar as its controller, Power Gig: Rise of the SixString.

I played the game on expert on what-ever they called pro mode and pretty much nailed the hardest rated song the first time. It was pretty much played the exact same way as GH/RB five button guitar. Except for something it wanted me to do on the 6th and 10th fret, but other then that, just a typical GRYBO guitar game. I even went in RB3 and played guitar with the power-gig guitar one day. only thing is the guitar is so unresponsive that I needed to drop down to hard just to play Eye of the Tiger.
