    Wii U Situation

So, about transferring my DLC songs to the Wii U.... I kinda wanna sell my Wii and put the money towards a Wii U, but do you think I'll need to keep my Wii for the transfer process? Or will I just need to keep the SD card with all the songs? Any help would be great, so I don't go and sell the Wii and then lose about 90 songs

I guess time will tell... I'll go ahead and put off selling the Wii until the new console's been out for a while.

You want my honest opinion? Start over on 360 or PS3. 90 songs seems like a lot but its really not.

I personally wouldn't use the Wii U if RB is going to be your main game. It has no HDD and the fancy model only has 32G of memory, my RB collection alone takes up way more than that on my PS3 and that's not counting other games.

In no time you'll be right back to swapping memory cards again to play certain songs. Nintendo dropped the ball when it comes to storage.

well Nintendo stated that any USB storage device will work with the Wii U... you can pick up a 250 gigabyte portable Hard Drive very cheap these days

I figured out I'm at 100 songs just few weeks ago. I honestly wouldn't mind if the DLC won't transfer over, but the peripherals do. I'd rather have my DLC on a more secure account system, which the Wii U should no doubt have than the volatile, fragile setup the Wii is at.

Wii U invites these kinds of games with open arms and I hope Harmonix returns the favor.

Don't trade your Wii in just yet; not if you want to transfer your Wii data, virtual console and WiiWare games to your Wii U come this November.

Wii owners will be able to transfer their data from their Wii to their new Wii U but the lack of any real unified account system means there's a bit of a hurdle.

According to Nintendo, via Gimme Gimme Games:

Both systems will need to be connected to the Internet and the Wii U will need an SD card to facilitate the transfer. The process is very similar to transferring content from Nintendo DS to Nintendo 3DS or from Nintendo 3DS to Nintendo 3DS XL.
