New goals 9/25/12

Heh...I just Gold Starred all of the Metallica songs on Sunday. Oh well, none of them were difficult IIRC.

That long song goal is going to be really testing on my nerves...as someone who periodically suffers from the Rock Central disconnection issue, it's way more of a pain when it happens on these long songs. I've had a few decently long stretches without a disconnect, so hopefully I can squeeze them all in under one of those.

I always swore I wouldn't buy DLC just to complete a goal. Buuut...

Play for Long Time - Five-star "I Heard it Through the Grapevine" by CCR, "The Camera Eye" by Rush, The Who's Super Bowl S-mashup, "Child in Time" by Deep Purple, "Do You Feel Like We Do?" (Live) by Peter Frampton, "Rime of the Ancient Mariner" by Iron Maiden, "Heart of the Sunrise" by Yes, and "Ghost of Perdition" by Opeth. (The songs are all over 10 minutes in length; 6,000 coins)

I do already have 7 of these 8 songs, and the only one I don't have is a song I like but has been in the "Do I like it enough to buy it again when I already have it in a GH game?" limbo (Frampton). So this goal may finally push "Do You Feel..." out of limbo.


I do hope there's a *reason* they're teasing prog so hard this week. A prog community goal, a long-songs goal with half of it being prog-categorized songs, a drum goal with a Dream Theater song... we haven't been given a single Prog-category song yet in 2012! (after being admittedly spoiled by them in the final six weeks of 2011)

The goal can be completed on Blitz OR RB3. I am going to try each on Blitz once, but any ones that I need to mop up, be it from a disconnect or failing to five-star, I'll mop up in RB3.

I'm missing two for the long song goal. I was considering picking up the Maiden one but then I saw the other song was Ghost of Perdition. I have no interest in ever picking up that noise.
