    So yeah, once.
I've heard it several times on the radio. Sometimes twice in the same trip, too.

Long as it doesn't come near the popularity of 21 Guns, I won't complain too much.

    American Idiot happened.

They tried something different for them (the rock opera concept) on that album, and it worked. It's sold a ton of copies and became one of the most popular albums of '04 - '05.

Since it worked so well for them, they rinsed and repeated for 21st Century Breakdown. That album went on to be sucessful.

Now they're rinsing and repeating three more times for the new set. They've fallen victim to success from commercialization. It happens to most bands. It's kind of sad that Billie Joe's lyrics rage against the media and the corporate machine considering that the band has "sold out" to "the man" he's so self-righteously pissed off at.

How are they 'rinsing and repeating' rock opera concept albums for three albums that are none of those words?

Well, I guess they're 'rock' and 'albums', but not 'opera' or 'concept'.

What I've heard from Uno! has the same sound as 21st. I'd say that's rinsing and repeating.

Also, isn't the whole point of the trilogy due to the band having a larger concept in mind? I might be wrong, but I believe I read that somewhere.

You mean Uno! sounds like the parts of 21st that pulled from Warning. They mime riffs from their forgotten albums. You can find the riffs in both concept albums.

And no. The whole point of the trilogy is because they didn't want to do a double-album in a singles-driven market, and because there's three of them and they could do that clever tres/Tre thing for the last one.

They couldn't, actually. Do you know why?

    We have a winner!

And Dog, what have you got against me going against Great Southern Trendkill? If you think it's awesome, whatever, but you know...

You got off easy. When I shockingly dared to have a difference in musical tastes with him, he said something downright vicious to me.
