I suspect there are different amounts of points available between the two versions of this song.

Yeah, that's the key. On my first try, I had it set to Super Guitar as usual, but about midway through the song I carelessly activated Bandmate on the Vocal track, and because I kept hitting overdrive phrases, I kept it active for a very long time on the wrong track. The next time, I activated on Guitar, and easily cleared the target score. It's kind of amazing how much Bandmate can do for you when activated on a decently busy super lane, especially later in a song. Obviously Jackpot is still better, but I pretty much disregarded Bandmate entirely in the past, and it's not as worthless as I thought.

Bandmate is an aimable Road Rage, so it's useful in several spots, either as your super, or as another busy track while you use your super.

Shockwave is definitely the most useless powerup. Still can't get 50,000 on Cherry Waves.

I've run this five times now, and I think every score has been between 43k and 46k for Shockwave. Not sure where I should be firing it to squeeze out an extra few points.

To be really honest this goal is complete luck based. You need Blast Notes to appear in the sections where multiple lanes have overdrive notes. The best advice available is:

Basically use it at the first you-o-o-ooohhh, and then once during the slow part when there's guitar playing and when the drums are alternating very quickly. And then after that I guess you can ad-lib and hope for the best because I don't remember much after that. But that's the basic structure I guess

It took me at least 20 times to complete it but there's always going to be some ridiculously hard goal which is intended to make you stay on Blitz for a long time instead of doing other things.

Fair enough. I've only had to grind two songs for goals prior to this -- Child in Time for 5* (four times?) and Holy Wars for gold (three times?) -- so I guess I've had it pretty easy so far.

Oh, and I had to play Screaming for Vengeance (the album) a second time because I hadn't hit Start Goal and I didn't look at the goal screen after every song lol.

I'll make a video for Cherry Shockwaves if people are interested in help, and also any other goals that people need help on (requests are accepted!). For now you have my advice earlier and the advice that grumblevolcano gave, in that you essentially have to get lucky on purple note placements and be sure not to activate Shockwave at the same time you get a blast note for maximum note-age

Like I said I can make another video with commentary like I did with the Metal Facemelter goal if people want something like that again (later though; I'm gonna take a well-deserved nappy-poo right now)

Really does seem to be heavily RNG. I just went through a run where I got some pretty friendly placement and tried to pop Shockwave at ideal moments, and still only snagged 48k. :/

Yeah. In my run I had almost perfect placement for the Blast Notes and used Shockwave in what I thought were the best places to deploy, and I still only managed 51,175. Eric Pope is a sadistic monster

Which powerups are and are not affected by your lane multiplier level? Super lanes? Doubler? Jackpot?
