This community needs to be a little more mature

Ok, I'm getting mad, here. Now, I know there are people mad at every DLC release because they didn't get the song that THEY wanted, but recently things have been a little, eh, bad.

During the Rock Band Blitz release, I found it touching how Harmonix would make a totally new game for those who like arcade style. The game is addicting itself. They also wanted to find a way Rock Band players could experience Rock Band without paying extra for instruments. Now, I've seen the comments on the launch trailer, and they have been not good. They were complaining that "This is not Rock Band" or "Rock Band is dead"! Harmonix gives people who can't afford that much money a chance to play a really fun action-packed Rock Band game without instruments, while at the same time giving hardcore Rock Band fans a chance to play our DLC in a fun new way. We didn't have to hate on them for that. Now, I know a lot of people in the forums love RBB, but remember that the forums is a small part of the community. All I'm saying is, they gave us a present, and some people just couldn't control themselves and they start hating.

Now, on another note, during the release of the Green Day Pack 03, there was more noticeable hate. Now, Harmonix gave us a present by giving us some songs from Green Day: Rock Band as DLC. This brought many good things.
    1. People who don't want to pay for the whole game and export for 40+ songs they don't like can finally choose one or two of the songs they do like from the four given to us.
    2. People who can't export on Wii can finally have some more Green Day DLC in Rock Band 3.
    3. People who don't have Green Day: Rock Band can play online with other people who have exported GD:RB songs.
That's 3 reasons I can think of, and I could come up with more. Now, how do you think we react. "Oh, thank you"? NO! We did the complete opposite. We complain we were getting the same songs, and not even Rock Band 3 versions. We wanted MORE NEW SONGS FROM GREEN DAY. Again, Harmonix gave us a present, and we complain about it.

All I'm saying is that nowadays, the Rock Band community just seems like a greedy little 8 year old who just wants MORE AND MORE ICE CREAM. Come on, people, shape up and be mature, and BE THANKFUL!!!!!

#2 is untrue, Wii can export GDRB and RB2. But lets not bring this up again, it flooded last weeks discussion thread and people have moved on as shown by the 311 discussion thread.

It's been this way for like 4 and a half years. I don't see a change on the horizon.

there's a difference between being immature and having an opinion. you don't have to like or agree with everything HMX does to be mature. there are plenty of people on the forums who express opinions and criticize certain DLC choices or game choices in a mature fashion (and of course, some who do it in an immature fashion). there are also people who are very immature in the way they attack anyone who posts something negative or critical towards the game or HMX. it goes both ways.

They gave us a present? Really? I can't remember anyone ever giving me a present and expecting to make a monetary profit off of said present.

Here's a brand new bike for christmas, now Son if you give us $250 you can have this bike.

    Welcome to the internet.

Really you found it touching that HMX made a game they can sell? Why, because they are a game developer and it was unexpected that they would try to make money by developing another game?

As I've said before why should I be thankful that HMX produces a product that makes them a profit. They're not a charity. They don't do it for my personal well being, or yours for that matter. They're a business who's intention is to make money. I'm not exactly thankful that subway makes sandwiches, it's what I expect them to do.
