It would be cool if the songs came from this list:

    Harvey Danger- Flagpole Sitta (awesome)
The Hollies- Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress (even more awesome)
Rick Derrenger- Rock N Roll Hoochie Koo (most awesome)

Given the hint, I see an artist with one song, and one with two

    Harvey Danger: Flagpole Sitta
ZZ Top: Sharp Dressed Man (LIVE)
    ZZ Top: La Grange (LIVE)

I say "live" because it seems like any ZZ Top in games is live
    RB2 Band Name: Deliverance
    Character: T-Bone (Guitar/Vocals)

I doubt it's Earth, Wind, Fire, or a combination thereof; "Shining Star" doesn't seem like a deep cut. Billy Squier is likely, but I'm still placing my bets on Harvey Danger.

What if they screwed up again and it turns out BOTH artists got deep cuts nearly 4 years ago?

"Tutto è possibile" by Finley, released 12/2/08, is their only song so far.

"Headphones On" by Miranda Cosgrove, same release date, is her only song so far.

"Gunpowder & Lead" by Miranda Lambert, released 12/16/08, is her only song so far.

"Christmas is the Time to Say I Love You" by Billy Squier, released 12/23/08, is his only song so far.

"Take Back the City" by Snow Patrol, released 12/30/08, is their only song so far.

"Feed the Tree" by Belly, released 1/20/09, is their only song so far.

"Wasted Again" by Turbonegro, released 2/17/09, is their only song so far.

"Can't Let Go" by Lucinda Williams, released 2/24/09, is her only song so far.

"People Got a Lotta Nerve" by Neko Case, same release date, is his only song so far.

"Time Bomb (Live)" by Old 97's, same release date, is their only song so far.

"Satellite Radio" by Steve Earle, same release date, is his only song so far.

"The Way That it Shows" by Richard Thompson, released 3/10/09 is his only song so far.

"Pick Up the Pieces" by Average White Band, released 3/17/09, is their only song so far.

"Shining Star" by Earth, Wind, & Fire, same release date, is their only song so far.

"Geraldine" by Glasvegas, released 3/31/09, is their only song so far.

"C'mon, C'mon" by The Von Bondies, same release date, is their only song so far.

Anything newer than this I doubt would be referred to as "almost four years ago."
They mentioned "deep cut". Half of those I'd chop out for not being deep cuts. The other half I'd chop just for being unlikely. Possibly Squier, though. I still think it might be Harvey Danger though, I've been waiting for Flagpole Sitta from the moment that other song arrived.
I enjoy frothing at the mouth, scaring pedestrians at the park and looking cute for photos.

That's three new artists according to the original tweet, two once it was corrected. You're off by one.

"Flagpole Sitta" would be okay, and I am kinda surprised we don't have it yet.

But please let it be Billy Squier.

You're right.... I edited my post

I did however put that on as a playlist as I'm doing "work" on the computer just now. It's an odd mix, but good!

I'm pretty sure the only one that would technically be a "deep cut" that's semi-realistic would be Billy Squier. I'd still kinda want to count Harvey Danger since I'd pay like $10 to play "Flagpole Sitta" in RB, but "Cream and Bastards Rise" WAS a single. I've wanted "Lonely is the Night" from Squier anyway so I'd be happy with either one.

Called Out in the Dark would be delightful. As would Chocolate, Crack the Shutters, or Shut Your Eyes.
