PS3 RB3 Rock Central Server issues.

The only way that the thermal compound could have had any impact on the XMB issue is if the issue was caused by heat. As I have said before there are other games that I am sure are more CPU and GPU intensive that have zero issues, so for this to be causing the issue in RB3 it would have to be some horrifically bad coding.

I will most certainly post an update, I Googled the opening PS3 to make sure I had the proper tools, best I can tell I just need my Torx bit set. Planning on doing this Friday morning. Power of positive thinking aside I have no confidence that this is going to do anything except possibly extend the life of my PS3.

I'll warn you there is alot of dust bunnies in it.

Yeah I'm sure there are.
I know it isn't going to make any difference but it isn't going to hurt anything, best case scenario is something goes horribly wrong and I toast it, buy another and my problem disappears that way.

Tonight's scenario
9 times trying to connect to RBC, as soon as I started up the system and went into the game.
4 XMB within 2 hours of game play and FB.

I cannot believe you guys, the RCS issue on my side is the usual 1 time game reboot, and it connects o.o. Well, I believe you, but either my side of the wire is weird, or yours, lol.

Aside of that, played quite a few hours toonight, with randoms, and with friends, still no XMB crash. :|

If I got my hands on another PS3 either a new one or borrowed one, swapped my HD into it and logged in on my PSN ID would I have access to all my songs or is the DRM tied to my unit? If the DRM is tied to my unit is there any type of backup I can do that would let me restore all my DLC to an alternate unit w/o requiring me to D/L all of them again.

You can back it up from one unit to the other otherwise..
It's tied to your unit.. You would have to re-D/L.


Now back to reporting...

13 tries to connect to RBC---last one was the charm. Grrr

Lost connection while playing...this is the first time BUT it sure is annoying!!! Lost all unsaved progress while in the middle of an 8 song set -- 10.29.2012...GRRRRRRRRRR! X(

Having some serious tuesday trouble with RBC at the moment , It just doesn't want to connect.

10/26 and 10/27 proved to be not much better.

10/26 15 songs with 3 XMB's. Then the final one at 1:15 AM EST shut PS3 down 2 times and restart game 4 or 5 trying to reconnect finally at 1:42 AM I said to hell with it.


10/27 from 9:10 - 9:37 PM EST I was unable to connect to RCS, finally connected 22 songs with 5 XMB's the last at about 1:25 AM could not connect to RCS again finally at 1:39 AM I reconnected finished the setlist we had going and we called it a night in disgust at the downturn that RB3 has taken since Blitz was released.

You know it would be one thing if there was some form of communication from the HMX side on this.
Seeing people on my friends list going offline and coming back online and going in and out of RB3 at the same time that I am after getting a boot is screaming at me that the problem lies within the RCS and the capacity they have for the PS3 users.

10/28.. 11 Restart to connect to RBC

10/29 Hurricane for me but, not touching this one with RBC. I had problems , but after 15 restarts I connected to RBC.. then lost power after 1 song!

10/30.. Stayed off because cleaning up after hurricane, the last thing I need was to play RBC & XMB..
I mean RB3.
