Wow, that sucks :|. For the record, I just connected now, one try, no restarts. I know some people here tried to set their network settings manually on the PS3, those who didn't, you should try, I had as much problems as you to connect to RCS before I setted the MTU to the right setting for my ISP, disabled UPnP and set a good DNS server for my localtion. Don't hurt to try if you didn't.

I can connect now too. Immediately. Connected.
The peak traffic is likely subsiding.
It was about 2AM last night that things cleared up.
It is clear what the problem is.
    Blitz was released.
Traffic on PS3 RBC network/servers increased and the RCS issues started happening.
Shortly after an AWESOME DLC SALE was put on and there was another wave of revitalized players.

Alternity's info can't hurt, I've had mine set every way imaginable through 3 different routers, different firmwares, homebrew firmwares the results have never changed for me. It is getting abundantly clear this is capcity related *in some fashion* it might be bandwidth, it might be server resource allocation, it may be a server that is misbehaving and not terminating sessions properly, but unfortunately there is nothing we can do on our end.

    * the sale really was awesome I wish I could grab a few more items that I overlooked.

Same here. I've also been able to connect by switching instruments, which just makes no sense whatsoever. I started out one session a few days ago playing 5-button, and when I tried to check the leaderboards I couldn't. I figured, ah, well, I wasn't planning on playing with anyone anyway. Then I started pro bassin', and all of a sudden -- leaderboards!

Friday and Saturday were terrible nights for me and most of friends list, 2 re-starts to connect to server, 30 minutes of play, then xmb boot and 3 re-starts to connect to server, then multiple disconnections from each other in full band, then every other person xmb booted, then played for an hour and a half with only a few disconnects and my final xmb came around, didn't bother re-connecting just threw in a working game (AC3) and played that.

Some people stated that if you simply play without being connected to RCS it will eventually connects. I think your instrument switching and the successful connection was simply a coïncidence, because I can not see why it would affect the connection. lol

Tonight it took me eight attempts and half an hour to get on, our bass player (curs) connected after nine attempts and drums (llama) took five attempts and then let it sit connecting whilst he went off for dinner. Its loading now but the odds are we'll have xmb's and further trouble as the night goes on.

Last night did not go as planned as the drummer we intended playing with (gladiators) took about an hour and a half to get online and then xmb'd and couldnt get back on. My friend (peaches) and the band she plays with were also having trouble and ended up playing another game.

Played a little blitz had 2 disconnections from RCS there at the end of songs, decided what the hell I'm a masochist so I loaded up the good old RB3 for some random band member action.

Got a vocalist that said they had not been able to connect all weekend and had been having a lot of trouble for the past 3 weeks, their screen name is t****c-3. I got the good ole XMB before my first overdrive ran out and can not reconnect at 11:56 not even one song played.

Since this is now being said to not affect the majority of users I'm going to start doing my own sampling, that statement may be true when you lump us into the Xbox crowd but they clearly have better servers because you don't see them here.

edit I censor the screen names of anyone I post to protect their identity, unless they expressly say they don't care. hence the *****'s

So far from protecting their identity, I'm 99.9% sure I know this girl

As for the topic, I only experienced one XMB crash since last time, and I was browsing leaderboards for a good time so it didn't really bothered me. No real problem to connet to RCS, the usual one restart still does the trick.

I see alot of people whining about the RB3 store that kicks people out randomly. Such thing never happened to me, did it happened to any of you? (I know it happened to shesaidshesaid)

Could the RCS and the store issue be related? Since I don't ''really'' experince them, I was wondering that. I was also wondering if the ISP, the connection speed, and/or your location could affect it in some way.

For the record, I live in Montréal, QC, uses Vidéotron as a ISP on a 8.5MBPS connection and I have only little trouble to connect to RCS (rarely more than one restart), and never experienced any RB store issues.

The problem with the stores booting has affected me since rock band 1 but i only sometimes have rbc server issues most of the time a reboot does the trick but sometimes(mostly tuesdays) it can take several reboots.I haven't tried manual network settings and the only thing i can think of with the store boots is that i have my songs spread out over 2 accounts, 1 uk and 1 australian account.
