I'd probably make "Batman Beyond" into a movie. Gives a chance for someone who has played Batman in a previous continuity (Christian Bale, Michael Keaton, Kevin Conroy, Adam West) to play the role of Old Man Bruce Wayne.

Why would they recast batman?

I thought it was pretty clear that Joseph Gordon Levitt was the new Batman at the end of the last movie.

Because the new Batman films aren't going to be a continuation of the Dark Knight trilogy. The Dark Knight trilogy has ended, the next Batman movie will be a reboot.

They will probably rip off Avengers first and do a Justice League trilogy. I don't expect to see a new Batman reboot this decade.

There actually was going to be a live action Batman Beyond that was gonna be written by Paul Dini. Unfortunately it was canceled.
