About how many active players are there in Rock Band 3?

Mostly just out of curiosity (and because of a question I was asked recently by a friend), but it's striking to me how difficult it is to find this information. Nearest I can tell, it's somewhere between 10,000 (the number of monthly users of the Rock Band World Facebook app) and around 100,000 (the number of people total who have a score posted for any given RB3 on-disk song, according to the leaderboards on Rock Band World). Anyone know of a more concrete estimate?

Why is it striking? Is this something that is commonly known for other games?

Is this for a homework assignment?

    What makes an active player?

Awhile back it was announced that Rock Band was getting over a million unique hits every month.

And of those Million hits, they weren't the same from month to month.

*tally mark* Man, this is gonna take forever.... :P

Nah, I was just curious since I know the music games industry has waned significantly in recent years (though I know Blitz has shown massive sales). It's strange to me that it's so difficult to find info on it...I guess I would have anticipated seeing something on the "Find xbox live players" screen in RB3 showing how many players are currently online (something like the CoD games do). That would actually make random matchmaking a bit less frustrating, now that I think about it, if I knew how many people were actually available.

That's interesting about the million hits per month stat. Any idea how long ago that was?

Not super long ago, sometime in the last six months or so would be my guess, but I don't remember for sure without looking it up.

There had to have been some special occasion for that to happen. Anything to do with the game's re-production?

No it wasn't a special occasion it was said that those were standard numbers. Those numbers were stated specifically to show that this game isn't "dying" like some people take for granted.
