it's a bit of a stretch, but you could consider Santeria as vaguely halloween-related. or wrong way, since there was also a horror film called wrong way.

I never did hear the clean studio version of "What I Got" to know whether it was the producer or Harmonix that censored the vocal track. In any case, it's good to have a singable part instead of it being blanked out.
Pro Drums:
1. Wrong Way: Some good fast rolls.
2. Santeria: Some good fast snare rolls, but the 16th-except-not-really beat is awkward beyond words.
3. What I Got: Blehhhh
Also, for those people who said that it was the label that made "mother mother riot", it might interest you to know that Guitar Hero 5's version goes "mother____riot". Doesn't make a lot of sense that the label would send out two different versions to two different companies for the same purpose, so HMX is the cause of the edit you have.
Please do your research before you go spouting claims like this. Thank you. =)

You mean a label can't send out 2 different versions several years apart to 2 different companies either because they wanted hmx to use these versions, these were the versions on hand, or because someone just grabbed what they saw with no thought to what version it was either the first or second time or both?
This isn't the first time censoring has been different between the games, and some of it is in house censoring and some is just what they got.
Hmx didn't censor it that way(they only blank it out). The only way it could be hmx's "fault" is if they asked for that version. But who gives a flying ****?

What? Band Hero? I think the entire community has realised that that game is the exception, not the rule, when it comes to censorship. But if there are examples from songs from other GH games that are also in RB, pray tell. I'm interested.
Well, quite a few people in this topic, as it turns out. Including dog037, the guy who's been clamoring for Sublime for ages and who did raise the censoring in the song, which he was not amused by. I'm sure Ellliot thought the same thing when he played the song as well.

Oh, so then the reason Rock Band and Guitar Hero have different drum tracks for Mr. Brightside must be because Harmonix went ahead and recorded a new drum track for the song. It's too improbable that the label would send two different versions that were released on the very same day, so that must be it.
Take your own advice.

Hi guys - I dusted off the old mic, and played "What I Got" a couple of time the past few days.
I tried the following replacement words for the second "mother":
1) ****ing
2) freaking
3) robot
4) Romney
All replacements worked flawlessly and didn't break streak. YMMV.

The same thing happened with Thunder Kiss '65 as well. I remember that vividly, because the track was so much worse without those extra few bass kicks.
And yet...nothing about that situation made a lot of sense. Why were those extra few bass kicks missing?
In this case, that works. It's not necessarily a blanket, cure-all thing, though. In parts where the track is blank due to censorship, in its place might be an OD spot, which wrecks the track if you try to sing it properly. It's happened before, see. The last big one was probably Killing In The Name.
