whats the big deal with releasing green day?

I was reading the prediction thread, everyone basically is saying that were gonna get the rest of gdrb. well please tell me, why release it? who would but it. overall its cheaper to buy the game and export it. not like its adding rb3 upgrades. i just dont understand it personally. im sure there is probably a good reason.

Some people held off on buying it (myself included) because they only like a few Green Day tracks. So having them all available to download as singles allows for cherry-picking favorites.

That's a part of it, definitely. Also, so then people in areas that don't have access to the GDRB disc would be able to get the songs (I saw many people say they never knew GDRB existed and/or never saw a copy of it anywhere when this was announced as happening). I can tell you that I personally haven't seen a copy of it in a good year or so at the least, and I shop in video game stores and many other places that sell them all the time so I'd believe it.

    1. There are likely more people who would want to cherry-pick what they like than buy a whole game for a few songs. 2. Blitz. 3. It raises the available DLC albums by three, raises available DLC by 40+. 4. Because Green Day is big and will still sell as DLC even though the game is available (not too convenient to get ahold of, though, especially new). 5. Because they want to and because Green Day wants them to.

Check in Wal-mart, none of the games stores locally have any new RB or GH titles. Walmart had an abundance of them and it was only 19.95 for GD:RB. Very glad I bought it there, just a little cheaper then buying them as DLC.
    Wishlist:
Metallica:RB w/ Lead, Bass, Rythm guitar-w/pro upgrades for all
    harmonies, Keys/Pro Keys
    drums & pro drums

    and EVERY song!

Hmmm.. Why does this thread give me a strong sense of deja vu?

I personally only want some of the songs from the game. This is a better option for me, since I don't have to spend $20 for over 40 songs when I wanted maybe 8.

This is why RB:GD was such a failure. Who in their right mind would want the catalog of such a terrible band? Between that, releasing the Beatles over RB3, and the combination of a terrible RB3 setlist and being a step down in so many areas (compared to RB2 and even Lego), is why no one plays this game anymore. Oh yeah, and the terrible to playable DLC ratio. LOL

Assuming this is all cherry picking, that's $16 for 8 songs instead of $20 for 47. Don't you think it might be worth it to give the other 29 songs a chance for 4 more dollars?

I bought the game completely for the full Dookie and American Idiot albums, having no desire for 21st Century Breakdown, but even that had a few fun songs on it when I played through it.
