Inasmuch as RB3 sales didn't come close to RB2's it seems likely that there are plenty of used copies available with usable export codes. Of course, you take a risk buying one.

So you would stand behind the theory that, say, 1.5 million people bought new copies of Rock Band 2 at some point, kept the game in their possession the entire time, purchased Rock Band 3, and then used the code on the back of the manual in conjunction with a $10 fee to purchase content that, maybe, only ten percent ever even bothered to use, online, in the newer game that they just bought, and then through whatever means deposited their copy of the game in a store for some other sucker to buy?

It's not that inconceivable that someone would sell a game after downloading 94% of its content for another game, and there's no way to tell which copies came from that and which were pawned a year or two earlier.

The fact is, RB2 exporting is becoming a rapidly disappearing feature. Soon, it may not even be possible export them anymore. I just wonder how it will be handled in the future.
