So I played guitar for the week, and here's my "reviews," from most fun guitar chart to least fun guitar chart. Though there wasn't a single snoozer here IMO.
The Allman Brothers Band - Jessica
Lots of varied and fun patterns here. It starts with some chords that might throw some people off, but when the main riff starts it's all uphill from there. The solo is the highlight, obviously, and was the most fun part of any song in a long time (not counting RBN here). It's a must if you play an instrument. Just buy the damned song
DragonForce - Cry Thunder
Lots of HOPO work here, and most of the patterns are actually manageable for the average player. The trill lanes in the solo kinda turn me the wrong way, but I understand why they're there. Overall a fun guitar chart.
Crossfade - Cold
I'm a sucker for HOPO chords, believe it or not. So I had fun with this one, simply because it's easy-to-hit HOPO chords for the most part, and the solo's rather nice as well.
Nine Inch Nails - Closer
The song takes a while to start up on guitar, but when it does we're greeted to a fun little riff, but most of it is a strumming pattern that gets dull after a few repetitions.
Modern English - I Melt With You
I personally like simple chord patterns, so it was still fun, though not as engaging as the songs above.
The Band - The Weight (Live)
My least favorite of the week because I found it mostly bland, though there were some HOPO patterns that were fun.

as I truly do think I would have been otherwise.
