You definitely were spot-on with your criticism. I know in my case (and I'm guessing with SWI as well), I tried to do the same format as the original undercover series, which opens with a short explanation of why the song was picked. But, I have a huge problem with self-editing so it ended up being two minutes long. >_>

I'm so goshdarn excited for this. The only songs I know in the list are White Knuckles, Pac Man Fever, and Schizophrenia, but I'm definitely getting at least the Schizophrenia cover

Getting? These are not going be be available on Rock Band. These are only for fun listening/promoting RBN artists of all types, the ones doing the covers and the ones covered.

We probably would try to release them on the RBN, but the ironic thing is that Cover songs aren't allowed on the RBN platform, so we can't. =[

Remixes seems to be okay if the original artist was involved (White Knuckles as a example) so perhaps it is possible to see if something like that is possible to be arranged?

Yeah Remixes are an exception as long as you get something worked out between the authoring group, original artist or label, and remixer. But covers seem to be out of the question.

If it were up to me, I'd allow it if the original artist was the authoring group, but that's just me throwing my opinion in there. Correct me if they actually allow that, it just sounds reasonable, but Harmonix probably has a good reason for not allowing covers at all.

If it helps, if anyone covers or remixes any of my songs, they can go ahead and put it on RBN. Though good luck with the flack from ScoreHero when they have a fit over something optional being offered.

What is the case with the Jerry Naylor covers? What was the reason which allows those songs to be brought to the RBN?
