While tigers are (probably) way faster, I wouldn't want to get whacked in the face by a grizzly. I'd be dead instantly.

This is simple. The tiger may have speed, but don't get in confused with it's other cat brothers, its much slower than a cheetah.

Tiger has the lowest speed to body ratio in the feline kingdom. It's not as powerful as a bear. The bear takes far less damage. A tiger swipe would do far less damage than that of a bear and as I said before, the second that bear gets a hold of the tiger it's all over for the tiger. The most the tiger can hope for is that his death will come quick when the grizzly crushes it's rib cage.
