I'd argue the connection to (and between) Clementine and Lee is one of the most (but not only) vital things about the game.

Well so far I dont think they are doing that good of a job making it not an annoying kid.

Also I already have been called a monster for one of my choices so I must be doing something right.

This year, I played through The Darkness II, Kid Icarus: Uprising, Diablo III, Quantum Conundrum, Shatter, The Walking Dead, and Dishonored. I've also played, but not beaten, FTL, Torchlight II, Borderlands 2, Pokemon White 2, and XCOM.

Of these, I'd probably say Kid Icarus was my favorite. The gameplay was a blast, the difficulty system was a great idea, and the writing was surprisingly good for a Nintendo action game.

My main runners-up are Dishonored, because of the detailed game world and versatility of the abilities, and The Walking Dead, for how the choices were handled and the fantastic writing.

Resident Evil 6 was terrible, and The Walking Dead wasn't trying to be just another stupid hack and slash zombie game, it was trying to be something more, and it succeeded.

When I played that game, I literally made all of my decisions based on how they would affect her. That's damn good character development.
