Are custom songs being counted on the Career Leaderboard?

I had an horrible accident a few months ago and I have been using my rehab time to play A LOT of Blitz, I have almost 300 hours of gameplay and I actually reached 1st place on the Xbox leaderboard.

But there is somebody whose gamertag is S1ckH4nds who literally JUMPED to 1st place in a few days and his score grows by 10 or 20 million everyday.

The weird thing is that his bio says that he does not have time to play that much....AND that he is a senior chart autor of (the AWESOME) RockGamer Studios.

We all know that autors can test custom songs...and there are thousands of ridiculous songs that will never see the light but they can play them. Obviously those songs would give ridiculous Blitz scores we will never see, but those scores can build their career score.

Sometime ago I read that we can actually play custom songs on Blitz and even get a leaderboard.

I just want confirmation of this to know if I still try to be 1st Place or...that sadly the leaderboards are broken because of customs. I really hope this is not the case

I don't see S1ckH4nds on leaderboards of many songs (I have played more than 1000) and I mostly have better scores ...and I play much more than him.

I play 5 or 6 hours to reach him...then after an hour he leaves me by 15 or 20 million...

I'm pretty certain customs can't affect the leaderboards, because even legit RBN songs can't until they're put into the store. And, obviously, customs aren't going to be in the store.

lol yes I have all of those songs because I love to play keys in RB3.

I am very glad to have a first confirmation that customs are not affecting the leaderboards and this is a fair and fun competition

I have scores posted for Guitar Sound(1st place on PSN) which is no longer available for purchase and is not recognized as a song on Rock Band World but it's still there, and I'm sure custom songs and other songs that are no longer available for purchase like Party in the USA and Atomic will still have posted scores on the leaderboards. I'm sure Guitar Sound is also contributing to my Career Score despite it not being on RBW.

I don't think "Atomic" will work because that was never officially released, unlike "Guitar Sound" which was in the store for months before it was taken down.

You cannot play "custom" RBN tracks on Blitz. You would need Audition mode, which isn't a feature on Blitz. And if it were, it'd be just like RB3 and there'd be no leaderboard for the song until it's release.

A song had to be officially released at some point in order for a leaderboard to be generated for Blitz, otherwise, after you play, you get a disconnect error, and get no score recap screen and no coins/cred.

As for RBN authored "customs", in RB3 you play them in audition mode, but there is no audition mode in Blitz

Basically, if someone is gaining on you tremendously on the overall leaderboard, it's probably because he/she has a lot more songs than you do. Unless you're constantly buying dozens of new songs, the impact of your play on your overall career score is going to be pretty negligible. I was at the top of the PS3 leaderboard for quite a while, but eventually I got to the point where I'd played everything I owned, and I'd bought all of the sale songs I wanted, and now it's back to a slow trickle of new songs. So even when I play several hours, my career score barely budges, and a couple people have now significantly passed me. In that case as well, I'm pretty sure they just have libraries that dwarf my collection of roughly 1700 songs.

Let me clear something up, since it seems like there's a misunderstanding. While I was formerly an author for RockGamer, I haven't updated my XBL bio in quite some time. As it stands, I don't even have an active XNA subscription at the moment, which means no running RBAs or RBSes in Rock Band 3. As far as playing them in Blitz? I'm pretty sure it isn't even possible.

I own several songs that there are no leaderboards for, such as Atomic, Bohemian Like You, and We Are the One -- not sure WHY they don't get leaderboards, but considering that legitimately purchased songs don't even count towards the career total, I'm mildly certain that playing customs or unreleased RBN content wouldn't count, either.

As far as what my bio says? I think you're misinterpreting what I'm saying:

"I don't frequently play on XBL these days, and I don't typically add people I'm not already friends with IRL. Nothing personal, I just don't really have the time these days for casual online play."

Meaning: If I'm playing a game on XBox, I won't be playing online multiplayer. I used to do random quickplay bands back in the days of RB1 and RB2, but since I've "settled down", I just don't have the time to do so on a regular basis.

I do, however, enjoy playing the hell out of Rock Band Blitz, and I've sunk dozens of hours into the game. The pick up and play mechanism really lends itself well to my schedule, so I squeeze in a couple songs here and there whenever I can, and when my kid goes down for a nap or to sleep at night, I'll play even more. With my library of over 2000 songs, I still haven't played everything I own, so any new song I play will add anywhere between 250-500K to my total, and of course there's longer songs which give totals in the millions.

I'm enjoying the rivalry. But if you have questions about legitimacy, you could have easily asked me in a message rather than jumping to conclusions on a public forum!

And sorry if I did not ask privately. This rivalry has just become more awesome and I guarantee I will still be following you. I have many songs remaining to be played so this will be cool.

Also, sorry for doubting... When Blitz launched I read customs could be played and generated a leaderboard. I will never listen to HMX haters again.
