Picking a Movie of The Year is very hard work. I made it a point to try and see the primary would-be "blockbusters" though I did miss out on quite a few, like Looper and Django. The Amazing Spider-Man, The Avengers, Dark Knight Rises and The Hobbit were all exceptionally well done films but each had their flaws. Despite my initial reservations, I ended up really enjoying Premium Rush and I hope Joseph Gordon Levitt gets his chance to become the next big action star, in a similar vein to Jason Statham.
Overall, I had the most fun watching The Avengers but I doubt such a "popcorn" flick would get Movie of The Year recognition in any sense but you never know. Stranger things have happened in Hollywood.

My list out of the few that I saw from last year (weirdly enough I added 2 for the new year)
(Best)
Django Unchained
Skyfall
Les Miserables
The Avengers
(Indifferent)
The Lorax
(Hate)
Breaking Dawn pt. 2
I mainly stayed home most of this year and watched B movies, caught up on older ones, and rewatched Tarantino flicks.
