"Like A Fool" by Shaimus and "Sons and Daughters" by the 88 were pretty fun to play. The rest... Not so much. Maybe " The Feeling" as well. It's been A while since I played that one.

probably 'cos half those artists you mentioned were released only or mostly in cover versions.

Because a lot of those are covers, some of which we've gotten the original versions of since. Beyond that, those were hardly the strongest Police or Metallica tracks.

    At least, that's my guess.

I got a lot of play out of about half of them. Some were good when you were learning things (Ashes to Fire or The Feeling for example when learning HOPOs), others were ok songs, and there's a few that are just fun tracks to play ("I'm Gone, I'm Going" on guitar).

Hey, they were free, I won't complain too much.

The only DLC in that 20 free pack that I liked to play was Prequel to the Sequel frankly.

    From worst to best...

2010 was absolutely awful. Only 1 week with even remotely tolerable songs, and even then nothing that I wanted to buy.

2011 wasn't much better, but I've at least bought 1 song, and might buy a couple more.

2012 had its ups (Green Day, Closer, Cry Thunder to an extent) and downs (pretty much everything else). Decent month overall though.

2008 had Monkey Wrench, The Killers and a whole bunch of free stuff.

2009 was amazing for the first 3 weeks. Foo Fighters, Nirvana, The White Stripes, Kasabian, AFI and Them Crooked Vultures all bringing very solid contributions to the table.

But the winner is 2007 for having such outstanding launch day DLC. Sure, there's a bunch of covers of songs I don't care for, but the packs from The Police, QotSA and Metallica are fantastic, and Joker and the Thief is pretty good too. '09 would've had more songs I bought, but '07 had a much better strike rate.
    Required DLC;
    Birds of Tokyo
    Children Collide
    We Are Scientists
    The Wombats
    Art Vs. Science
    (more) Muse

Hmm, do I go for the year that brought us Rush, Skynyrd, Bee Gees and Bon Jovi...or the year that brought us Ghost of Perdition?

No, if you give me a choice between Ghost of Perdition and every other song that was ever in Rock Band, it isn't a choice at all.

There is no other set of months in which one song which nullify all else. That's how much I love this song.
