Metallica gets right's to master recordings, open up "Blackened Label"

That's a long shot for Rock Band Network, but if anyone wants to try, go for it! lol

I assume this wont matter to RBN, but interesting to see if it can lead to HMX DLC. And at the very least, I hope it means we'll see remastered/remixed albums of the entire Metallica discography.

That's some interesting info right there. Something tells me they wouldn't be all that interested in RBN, but anything that makes Metallica DLC more likely is a good thing

It might be promising, but aren't they still Activision's house band?

RockBandRocker: We will all migrate to the Dance Central forums. It will be like Moses leading the Israelites out of Egypt.
Munnchy: Only Flashier, with impeccable dance moves.
RockBandRocker: With more glitter and glam. We will survive

If the exclusivity was with the label and not the band, and now the band has exclusive rights to the material and not the label...

Oh it's definitely not going to help anything happen with RBN.

BUT if like I said Activision made a deal with the label for an x amount of exclusivity, and said label no longer has any controlling interests or rights, then theoretically Harmonix could make a new deal with the new controlling parties of the rights (IE the band).

HOWEVER if the band was part of the rights exclusivity with Activsion, then yes nothing will change.

BUT, there's a chance that we might see Metallica before March 2014 now.

Considering their likenesses were licensed for Tony Hawk HD, I have a feeling the band themselves are exclusive to Acitvision.

I don't think we'll see any more Metallica for some time regardless.

    So... Activision is doing slavery?

If your definition of slavery includes paying them obscene amounts of money, then maybe.
