Good news! I got another update from Kate (Witt's wife):

Sorry for the delayed response, as you can imagine its been a bit hectic. Normally I wouldn't post an adress, but Michael trusts you all well enough, just please be responsible with it. We're going to be staying at his parents house till he gets a little bit better, so you can send any cards to...

It's closer to his doctor and roomier than our place. Right now he's still sick, but the new donor blood isn't causing any problems yet which is a good sign. He's been under heavy medication and every time I've seen him he hasn't been awake. I'm told the scans they run on him are showing good results as in no more pockets of blood forming in his brain or circulation problems, so he'll be well on the road to full recovery soon enough

If anyone wants to send a card or something let me know and I'll give you the address she gave me. Obviously I'm only going to give it out to people I know well enough.

Just happened upon this thread, and while I haven't interacted too much with everyone here, I always enjoyed reading Witt's replies. I wish him and his family and friends all the best for a speedy and full recovery and hope to see him Witticising around the forums very soon!

Another update!

Great news! I finally talked to Michael for the first time! First thing he said to me, 'I'm sorry doll, I broke that promise that I'd never accept another man's fluids.' Sometimes I don't know whether I want to hit him or hug him. It's clear to me that despite the trama he went through that he's going to alright soon enough. Glad I could finally say something of a positive nature.

New update

I just talked to Michael's doctors and they believe he'll be out of ICU either tomorrow or Friday. Which means he'll be spending a little bit of time in a normal hospital room, which will be nicer than the Matrix of wires he's currently set up to.
