Doesn't actually make them classic rock.
What 'makes' them classic rock is the notion that anything older than twenty years is suddenly classic rock. But that's easier to do since it's not a genre but a general description of a collection of songs spanning about ten to fifteen years between '65-'79.
But that's really just music history.
And anyway, they were played on classic rock stations when they were first popular. Still doesn't make them classic rock since most stations that did that used the idiotic 'it doesn't have to be old to be classic' line just so they could expand beyond their own limited library and increase ad rates by maybe getting higher ratings.
Wolfmother gets played on classic rock stations. Doesn't make it true.
I have never heard Wolfmother on my classic rock station. They do play Hard to Handle from time to time though.

Im liking some of the discussion in this thread. Everyone knows reality is you ask 19 out of 20 people in the world "Do you know the rock act called the Toadies?" They will say no. You ask 99 out of 100 people do you know the song "Possum Kingdom" they will say hell no. I dont even think they say that phrase in the actual song. This is a 1 hit wonder album that hit platinum in 92.
I will very clearly be picking up all three but people understand this is not much of a "get" for HMX. Kind of chump change type stuff due to the fact it was 10 yrs ago at this point. A lot of nostalgia factor for big rhythm gamers tho.

Shouldn't really. I just have deeper personal ties to certain artists. Sure Queen is a great band and all, there's just nothing better than seeing a band that made a difference in your life. In the case of Toadies I met my wife at a Toadies concert, that's why they mean more.

i've had the rubberneck disc in my car for the last 6 months and i can't take it out! like soundgarden, the vocal melodies take 3 or 4 lstens to kick in. this is hands down the best dlc of the year, edging out the maiden pack.
this band has dark lyrics and themes. i don't think they're concerned about "hits" and being "popular". they have a huge fan base without relying on commercial airplay. for those who judge music on those merits, realize this: you're missing out on tons of great bands...
rock band is the greatest...game...ever.
Definitely getting "Dozing Green". The more J-Rock, the better.
I just drunktaneously picked up the album Rubberneck on iTunes. I'll burn to a CD and play along on acoustic drums tmrw and will do my best of a track prediction on RB drums when it releases.

I like when HMX surprises me with a new group and I end up actually liking them. Nice job.
