nope, whether you like a band or not is solely opinion based.
quality is definitely noticeable without bringing opinions into this. not always as much, and i'm not saying people can't like "lower quality" singers for example.

a lot of things are based on opinions, does it have a catchy tune? Do i like the singers voice? (not to be confused with: is he/she a good singer, 2 absolutely different things)

let's say 1 guitarist knows how to play 1 chord. and another one knows how to play 2.
objectively the one that can play 2 is a better (higher quality) guitar player. Does that mean you like the songs of #2 better? no, but that doesn't mean #2 isn't better.

to say that everything about quality in music is subjective is just wrong.

Yes, you do have a valid point here but let's look for example at the guitar on "The Only Exception". It has a very simple guitar part but that is not because of the guitarist's skill level proven by more difficult guitar parts in songs such as "Misery Business".

This really saddens me people are putting down a great band just because they've never heard of them. It's Fratellis pack for me all over again.

I listened to them, and I'm still not crazy for them. The Fratellis, on the other hand... I'd gladly take their full discography.

exactly my point, does that mean you have to like the guitar part in Misery Business more than The Only Exception? nope. but anyone (except for Cipher >_> ) can tell that the guitar playing is of a better level (quality) in Misery Business.

does it sound better? does it fit the song better? that's the part where opinions come in. but again. It's not 100% all opinions that determine quality

Two horrendously boring weeks in a row in December. This is unusual.

Will pick up Possum Kingdom. Not really digging the other two. And the Black Crowes pack from last week was about as bad as it gets for me.

I hope so, but after the way most of this year has went I'm not getting my hopes up
