Remember when Jimmy talked to Blabbermouth regarding the use of his music in games? I looked into it and found out some ways to work around each of his arguments, so I suppose he can be at least aware that it's worth it to have Led in games (dogged persistence), without forgetting his standing in the history of music (humility). I mean, Rock Band has in its archives a whole host of classics from the history of rock, and without Zeppelin, it feels like it's missing something (there's a few others too, but the topic of conversation here is Zeppelin).

Waning moments? Well, the game may be past its prime, but there are still new artists coming to the game (like the Toadies this week). Plus, HMX made the smart decision of treating RB like a music platform instead of just a stockpile of games to be churned out every six months, which is what led to Guitar Hero's demise thanks to Bob Kotick's greed and foolishness. So as long as they don't go down the Activision route, RB should have a few more good years (plus, the new DLC every week helps extend its longevity).
Thank goodness, someone gets it! It's frustrating to see people going "RockBand is DEAD!" in the Rock Band discussion forum lately just because a new game hasn't come out recently and DLC is slow. The first is because it's a platform and platforms don't update as fast. I don't expect to see a new RB until the next console gen comes out. The second is because it's a platform and Harmonix has been releasing songs across multiple platforms lately, which will naturally slow things a bit.

Good article. Perhaps Rocksmith and the Pro Guitars are Harmonix trying to get more educational with their games? If more "real instrument learning" sneaks into Rock Band with bleedover from Rocksmith, perhaps someday Led Zep will go "Hey, someone is actually learning here!" and be OK with their music being included.

RB released a Toadies pack....so that means Led Zeppelin are coming?

Enjoy your hopeful ignorance. I feel for you when the truth finally hits.

Rock-and-Roll (rk'n roll') n. first so used (1951) by Alan Freed, Cleveland disc jockey, taken from the song "My Baby Rocks Me with a Steady Roll". The use of rock, roll, rock and roll, etc., with reference to sexual intercourse, is traditional in blues, a form of popular music that evolved in the 1950's from rhythm and blues, characterized by the use of electric guitars, a strong rhythm with an accent on the offbeat, and youth-oriented lyrics. A form of popular music arising from and incorporating a variety of musical styles, especially rhythm and blues, country music, and gospel. Originating in the United States in the 1950s, it is characterized by electronically amplified instrumentation, a heavily accented beat, and relatively simple phrase structure

    I never said that.

I just used the Toadies as an example to say that there still are artists debuting in Rock Band even five years after the series began, to illustrate my point that Harmonix is keeping RB running, and I just mentioned that to reply to that other guy who said RB was on its "waning moments".

(editing to prevent possible flamewar, though I still think that wasn't your smartest opinion, and quite seriously: what the hell are you smoking?)
