Thread: ? Elton John ?

  1. #1

    ? Elton John ?

For RB3 for the PS 3. I did notice one song in game by Elton John. It's entitled "Saturday's Night is Arlright for Fighting" it is in the game towards the bottom of the original song/and or group. Fun and difficult song to play.

Here is my question, When I looked on the RB3 game/music FOR OTHER ELTON JOHN SONGS. I COULD'T FIND ANY?

IS THERE A WAY TO LOOK HIS SONGS UP, SOMETHING I MAY HAVE MISSED. OR MAYBE A SPECIAL TECHNIQUE THAT I AM MISSING TO LOOK HIS SONGS UP?

I will wait for some help on that question. Thanks in advance

There are only two other Elton John songs available for Rock Band. But you must purchase and import LEGO Rock Band and Rock Band Blitz.

There is no DLC available. You haven't missed anything.

Also, Caps Lock is not your friend.

There are 2 other Elton John songs available. "Crocodile Rock" is playable if you buy Lego Rock Band and export it into RB3. Also, "I'm Still Standing" is playable if you buy Rock Band Blitz.
    Wishlist (possible artists):
    [4] The Killers
    [1] The Cure
    [7] AFI
    [3] Sum 41
    [11] Linkin Park
    [51] Green Day
    [9] The Offspring

Note that the Lego Rock Band song (Crocodile Rock) does not have Harmony vocals or keys, since it's a pre-RB3 song.

There seem to be certain bands that we've only ever had associated with full titles, not as DLC. I'm not sure if there's ever been a serious answer as to why, but I'd assume it has to do with higher licensing costs or an unwillingness to license to the full platform.

    Licensing is hard (and expensive).

That's a pointless answer when an artist has been licensed to disc, and not to DLC.

It's rather pat, but it's not a pointless answer at all. You seem to think being on-disc exists at some level above being available as DLC, and unless you're AC/DC I'm not sure why you think that.

I'm sure HMX would love to offer Elton John DLC. They have not done so. That leads one to believe that Sir Elton may not be agreeable to licensing his music as DLC (as is his right). Therefore, music licensing is hard.

Licensing content for a disk is not the same as licensing content for digital release, so it's not a pointless answer.

    Fine.

The process of licening music for use in a game like Rock Band is a complicated affair. And getting a rights holder to agree to lend their content for use as DLC as opposed to on-disc content can sometimes be more difficult for reasons nobody is going to specify.

The appearance of an artist in one format is no guarantee that it will appear in a different one.

Does that make you feel warm inside?
