SillyStou: What will happen to this place when Rock Band ceases to exist?
RockBandRocker: We will all migrate to the Dance Central forums. It will be like Moses leading the Israelites out of Egypt.
Munnchy: Only Flashier, with impeccable dance moves.
RockBandRocker: With more glitter and glam. We will survive
Personally, I thought that only II, III, 5, and Warriors of Rock were great. Pretty much anything else, especially the games running the World Tour engine, was worth skipping over.
On the topic of the article, I would have loved to see those dynamic venues. Every else sounds like a step in the wrong direction.

Warriors of Rock basically expanded upon 5, which was the game that saved Guitar Hero's reputation in my eyes. I actually thought the challenges on all songs and the power-ups were a nice touch, in that they give it a more gamey feel that Rock Band doesn't have. The setlist was weaker than RB3's, but to be fair, RB3 had one of the best setlists in either franchise. I also like how it had an attempt at a story and very fantastic feel to it, though it should have taken itself far, far less seriously.

I really liked GH2, GH3 has sentimental value for getting me in to music games, GH80s and GHA have my favourite setlists, I liked Band Hero best out of all the full band games, GH5 was pretty fun and party play is the best thing Activision ever did for Guitar Hero, WoR was fairly decent, Metallica was fun even though I don't like Metallica, Van Halen sucked even though I like Van Halen, and Smash Hits just felt like it was a cash out.
Everything about World Tour was just super disappointing to me, from the setlist, to how my drum kit kept breaking, plus I pre-ordered the game, but still didn't get it for about 3 months after it was released.
Guitar Hero 7 looks like a total step in the wrong direction, but for all we know it could have been executed perfectly, and totally change the way we looked at Guitar Hero
Witticus: If your husband takes you to Gay Days at Disney and starts making out with Goofy and Pluto, you might have a problem.
Van Halen is top of my worst games of all time list. It was awful. Just. Awful.
Smash hits could have been good if a) they charged less and b) added more songs to the set list. Would have made it miles better. It's not like they didn't have too few to choose from >_>

Plus, adding in actual great Guitar Hero songs. Some of the choices were pretty meh.

Van Halen is definitely the worst Guitar Hero game. Wish it came out after GH3 and Aerosmith came out as a full band game. That said Van Halen is still fun as hell on Guitar.

As far as Van Halen goes I really like the band, so playing the game is fine (and it was free). The graphics are among the worst ever, for sure.
