    Hello Guys/Gals!

I just bought RB3 about 2 weeks ago. Before that I played alot of GH. I have found the timing to be very different and I like that because it makes me be more precise. I did alot of singing on GH and I have tried on RB but I havent been able to hit it yet. My question for you is how do the controls work for vocals on RB. Do any of you have any tips for me? How do I get better control of the volume when I sing? I have got the bass guitar sounding like I want to but the vocals have me stumped. How do I make it so my voice sounds lower? Thank you one and all for your comments. Please no flame wars I am here to rock with everyone.

Are you that guy that I played with the other day (my Gamertag = Gigakoops)?

For vocals, it may be easier if you stay within a comfortable octave to sing in. Just because the vocals in some songs such as Bohemian Rhapsody are high-pitched that doesn't mean you have to go as high as Freddy Mercury, as long as you hit the same notes but at a lower octave.

Also, while singing, try pressing the B, X, and Y buttons to change settings, including how loud the mic output is (I think it's those buttons, but it's been a while since I've played on vocals, and I don't have my Xbox handy to check).

the nice thing about the vocals is that you don't really need to sing lower, you can actually just sing the same line in a different octave. so instead of dropping really low, try singing a bit higher and see what happens.

I'm absolutely not an expert on vocals but from what i hear the engines between GH and RB are quite different. so it takes some getting used to.

welcome to Rock Band, and as a little tip if you want to get some songs pretty cheap fast, keep an eye out for copies of older Rock Band games (except the Beatles RB, and they have to be new copies though), as pretty much every song from every game can be exported to RB3, giving you lots of songs for waaaaaaaaay less than the price of what they'd cost in the music store!

example, rb2 copy on ebay for $15 (random number i just made up now, don't pin me down on it), + a $10 export fee =$25 , now RB2 comes with 84 songs, out of which 81(?) export, + a free code for 20 more songs, making it 101 songs. buying that individually would cost you $202!!!

anyway, hope you enjoy the game, and have fun playing!
my love is like a candle, if you forget me, i will burn your damn house down.

Yes. Once you have the game, there should be a code on the back of the instruction manual. Go onto RB3, go to "Get More Songs," then "Export," then enter that code. It's a $10 fee to get the export pack, but it's totally worth it.

Also, just get a copy of Rock Band 1, and in that game there should be an export option.

Provided the code hasn't been used already.

Green Day and LEGO will export, but The Beatles will not. Pitch Control, if it's what I think it is, is pretty much keeping everything in one octave while you sing. I personally keep it off, because my vocal range is already pretty restrained, and having even more restraints on my vocals makes it a billion times harder.

Beatles doesn't export. Lego Rock Band's export process can be a nightmare. The rest are simple as described in above posts.

Pitch Correction basically autotunes your voice to make it sound "better" through your speakers if you have microphone volume not at 0.
