If I already have "I’m Still Standing" from the Rock Band Blitz export, do I really need to get this single/pack?

Basically, is it the same compatible song that I can use in online multiplayer if someone doesn't have the Blitz export, but has the single?

    *okay, it was me.
I just assumed it was being saved for Blitz. Nope. There must be licensing problems, but I'm gonna keep hope alive that we will get it one day.

Perhaps after the weekend. Aaron is the one who has usually provided those tidbits, and he mentioned on the livestream that he would be away on announcement day.

    I can't see how it wouldn't be.

Aaron's not around to calm the rabid disappointment? Oh dear.

There may not be any forum for him to come back to on Monday!
It's all right. Everything will work out fine.

And complaining about HMX decisions has never made them change their opinions and actions. Oh wait... Except for all the times it did.

You complaining about people complaining is ironic because you're just as in the dark as everyone else as to how much of this week is forced upon HMX. And I refuse to believe without proof that Elton's label forced HMX to re-release a song in the pack.

It's good to see such a respected and legendary artist get some DLC. The pack having a song that was already available via Blitz is obviously a nod to wii players. What's so strange or horrible about that? Anyway, having that said, although I respect Sir Elton I'm not a big fan. There are are a handful of songs by him I would definately purchase but none of these are them.
But I believe in this and it's been tested by research: he who [edit] nuns will later join the church.

I wouldn't be surprised to see some kind of comment early next week. Something like "the music ops teams tries REALLY hard to get songs that everybody will like, and sometimes that's not possible for any of a million different reasons".

The music ops guys don't sit in their cubes, twirling their old-timey mustaches in an attempt to screw the long-time RB faithful. They really do try their best. Sometimes things are available, sometimes they're not.

It's still two Elton 70's hits, that would likely be part of any hypothetical Elton 2009-era 12-pack anyway. These are two big songs.

Normally, I'm cynical sam, but today, the glass is half full from my viewpoint.

I'm not sure anyone actually said that. I think they were suggesting that the songs themselves were hand-picked by the label, but who knows. HMX probably won't tell us either way.

Aside from being a nice accomodation for Wii users (who still don't have the majority of the Blitz songs), my theory is that HMX licensed all three songs at once and only put I'm Still Standing in Blitz. Without it, it would have been a two-pack of EJ and drawn the same amount of complaints and disappointments.

We shouldn't assume this is the only Elton John we'll ever get. I remember when that Nirvana 3-pack with all Bleach stuff came out, everyone was like "Waaa waaa we'll never get Smells Like Teen Spirit, Lithium, Come As You Are." Then those songs came out like a month later.
