Im losing my mind with this ancient guitar lol

    Can someone help??!!!
I pulled out the original Rock Band game last night (brand new still had plastic on) and the guitar fret buttons were sticky but i figured they needed worked in. Today i tried to play and the orange fret is showing up depressed on my game the whole time, making it impossible to even play. I found links about pulling the button but when i did it it seamed like i had to break the button off....I checked the metal rod n readjusted it n it seamed fine so i put the button back on. But nothings changed. Could it be the solo frets?? if so how can i fix this??....i cant play the game until i figure this out....been trying for an hour and about to quit. PLEASE HELP ME IM DUMB!!!

Which guitar are you using? Need to know that first.
Love to use the stage kit and all my other lighting items while I play. See my thread on lighting in the dlcquickplay.com forums.

Sounds like he's working with a 1st generation RB1 Stratocaster controller (hence the reference to solo buttons).

I'd have to look at my RB1 Strat to be sure, but as I recall there's a few screws in the back that will let you take it apart and mess around with the neck. Since it's long since out of warranty, there's not too much fear there.

Be aware that (as I recall) there is at least one sensor that's plugged into the backplate with a wire, so be GENTLE when separating those parts, as you might end up breaking something if you're not careful.

First to do when something is weird with a controller (especially when used) is to open it up, check the wires and the buttons, to be sure all the wires are still connected properly, and there's no sweat or anything else on the circuit board of the buttons.
