It doesn't matter why you're not good at something, if you're not good at it, you're not good at it. More power to you for having a life and probably doing things more important than a silly video game, but it's completely selfish to want to bring people who did put time and effort into something down to your level while also claiming not to care about it.

You seem to have a persecution complex about being "casual" when that's not really the issue here.

I totally understand your annoyance Cowboy, but it really seems like you have been talking in circles on the same thing and trying to justify your position for weeks now. There are a lot of people that play this game for the RB World Challenges and Score Wars. This change has no impact on any of that realistically. I'm one of them and whether this stays as is or changes back will have zero impact on my enjoyment of the game.

I am one of those that posts some what regularly on the forums but this issue for me is a non-issue. Tournaments are a great idea but not being in the US means that the functionality is not relevant for me, nor would I be able to compete realistically anyway.

It just seems that every day people are complaining about the same thing in this thread. Regardless of what HMX peeps say unless the answer is "OK we are going to undo the flame notes change" will those people stop. Only at this time you will find that those that maybe liked this change may then come out and complain about it as they caved in to pressure from a handful of people to reinstate the exploit.

My perspective is that most people considered unhappy with this are those that don't take advantage of the Facebook App which to me is where the heart and soul of this game is, and where it always has been.

Because I want to see a fairer playing field. I want to be able to compete in the FB Blitz Tournaments, and feel like I have a fighting chance at getting a decent rank. But instead I just see scores from people using scoring exploits that should not be a legitimate part of the game dominating the Tournament Scoreboards, and I feel like I have no chance at victory, and I feel left out in the cold.
Someone on here feebly attempted to call me out on having a persecution complex, but that's not the case. Rather, I feel left out in the cold.

I'm comfortable in saying I'm pretty good at RB Blitz. I get gold stars on most songs, on a regular basis. I feel like I should be good enough to get a decent enough ranking in the tournaments. But I'm not, because I (and plenty of other players) cannot measure up to players who've dedicated themselves at mastering unfair (yes it is unfair) scoring exploits.
Is using game exploits the same as cheating? Not by definition, no. But it's not much better, and it's definitely not fair.

Competing and getting a decent rank are 2 different things. I'm currently 25th on 'Shout' which is a decent rank. I'm 200,000 pts out of first and have no shot at competing. Oh well, somebody's better than me. Won't be the first time and won't be the last. You basically want a handicapped league, like bowling.

No, quite the opposite. I want the leaderboards to be based on pure skill, not using scoring exploits to get to the top. I want to see a true balance to the game's powerups, and yes that does mean reducing the point value of many powerups.

You keep using that word exploit. I do not think it means..what you think it means.

Explain how using Pinball is an exploit? It's an intended powerup and it's being use exactly how it's intended. How is Jackpot an exploit? How is pathing an exploit? How is not missing notes an exploit?

Maybe you aren't as good as the game as you think you are and haven't studied the powerups enough. Maybe there is more depth to the game then you think. You need to stop accusing all the top scores as "cheaters" and exploiters and all that nonsense because they are significantly higher than what your scores are.

Well at least you can actually enter the tournaments, spare a thought for all the people that live outside of the US, that have to live with a drastic change to the game that was mainly enabled for something that they can't even enter.

You do have a very valid point, and I do agree with where you're coming from. It does leave players outside of the US in the lurch, yes.

Perhaps more folks would be jazzed if the odds of winning were better for even entering (Say, 5 random 2 code winners as an example)
That right there is the whole problem here. The only reasonable chance all but a tiny handful of people have to win a prize is to get chosen randomly. The very fact that there are random choices provide all the incentive that players would need to participate in the Tournaments. With that being the case, how is the game better served by only Pinball/Sync having any chance to win, at the cost of Flames being completely removed from the game for all practical scoring purposes?

You're seriously saying with a straight face that you wouldn't have played in Tournaments at all, even knowing that the only chance you have of winning anything is by random chance, no matter what the state of the game is? That you're more inclined to play in future Tournaments because Pinball/Sync is the only viable combo instead of a number of combos that include Flames?

I really don't see how buffing or nerfing powerups is going to make you a better player. If you can't compete with the best now, what makes you think you'll be able to compete later? Maybe you can get a score war with Magnet and stipulate zero powerups or maybe just 2x and see how you do. Think you'll be surprised at the outcome.
