Exactly! I've been gaming over 20 years and have never seen anything as ridiculous as a developer destroying their own game.

    Yeah! 'Destroy'.

That sure is a good word you used there.

I mean, I'd have probably saved it for a situation where HMX shutdown Rock Central and changed the game to pay-per-play or something. But sure, let's go with destroy. HMX totally won't be able to do anything about this.

Hyperbolic hyperbole is hyperbolic. Anyway, zage hit the nail on the head with post #432, and so have the ones after him.

You obviously don't play MMOGs, do you.

Or Daikatana. Or Duke Nukem. Or the UT series. Or Diablo 3.

You haven't played many games, have you.

5+ years, 4,000+ songs, 1 awesome developer. Thank you!

Hyperbole, in a forum where people hand out comments like 'HMX is ruining their game' as if they were prizes in a cereal box?

I'll stick by my derision, thanks.

Yeah, let's be fair here. Rather than calling the whole game 'destroyed' (Which is very difficult to take seriously) tone it down to 'This has destroyed my fun factor for the game because the reason I played it has been severely limited'. That's much more reasonable and relatable than claiming this change is gamings biggest mistake in 20 years, we'll do ourselves a lot more favours for how the community views us if we keep our complaints in a reasonable window.

After almost a month of barely playing Blitz I have come to realize there are plenty of fun games out there. Blitz after all is just an arcade game. The company made their decision. I will always believe the majority of players were against it. In the end its Harmonix game and their choice with what to do with it no matter how irrational the decision seems.

The debate will be settled in March. It's simple. If they put Flame notes back it will show that I was not the only one who gave up on the game when they removed the only alternative loadout to Pinball. And although plenty of other companies have done plenty worse I for one as a consumer will always remember this out of the blue decision the day after Christmas. Any Harmonix product I buy going forward I will always have to know it could be changed on me at anytime with no notice even if the majority did not want it.

To be fair, it wasn't intentional. It still happened, but it's not the new norm. Of course, it also depends on whether a game can be controlled like Blitz.

You are right. There are always factors to consider. And it seems to me that before this Harmonix had a good reputation. Maybe they never do something like this again and it's isolated. Good companies have an occasional misstep. Greedy companies keep walking over customers. Hopefully Harmonix is a good company with the occasional misstep.

Just to point out, again, that you're assuming you're in the majority. There is really little real evidence to say if you are or aren't.
