Awesome. I'm glad you guys are looking into it at least.

No offence HMXHenry but if your playtesters actually tested to see if restoring power up mechanics made a huge shift in loadouts then they would have seen the pinball thing coming. When the synchrony buff was announced the first thing I tried was playing the game as if it were Arkanoid just to see the loadout was overpowered. It wasn't fun, but after 2 or 3 tries I realized that with an hour or two, maybe more of practice it would be a killer loadout.
I never thought a game would be able to inspire the formation of a real band or strengthen friendships. Thank you Harmonix, for making Rock Band.

After reading Henry's response and everything it takes to change an integer on the server, I doubt it will change back. Heck, if they have to lobby for it, that means there people who are lobbying against it (or the folks in charge don't want it changed back). If it takes resources (money) to change Flames back the way they were, they are going to want to see some sort of return on their investment (DLC sales).

I find it hard to believe that there are many people buying DLC to play in Blitz. (I point to the Aerosmith pack where Dream On has 961 scores posted according to RBW.). I buy DLC to play in RB and I'll occasionally load up Blitz just to play the songs I purchased for RB. I'm sure I'm not the only one who does this. Blitz doesn't drive my purchases, RB does.

Apparently thousands of dollars are needed to revert the game back to the way it was. I really don't think HMX cares if you play Blitz. They want you to play Blitz and buy DLC and since goals and tourney's are ending, it appears they've given up on trying to sell more DLC with Blitz.

I enjoy Blitz but to be honest, it was the 25 songs for $15 immediately playable in RB that got me to purchase it. A valiant but failed attempt to to boost DLC sales. That will be Blitz's legacy.

There's no way to tell one way or another until they decide, and he didn't say that it would take thousands of dollars. In fact, he said that they've already started the process. There's also no need to disparage Blitz's purposes or say that they don't care, PR for this thread aside. They made a fun game for us to buy, and people bought DLC for it.

    Let's just wait and hope.

I don't thing using the Aerosmith songs as an example is valid. I can't speak for others but before the nerf I was buying songs I wouldn't normally buy (ie didn't exactly like the song) just because the blitz tracks were fun. Once the nerf happened I stopped buying and played less. By the time Aerosmith came around I had basically stopped playing entirely.

I think Blitz is a great game but since the scores I have are not impossible to beat without pinballing I have no motivation to play. If it was just a track pack like you mentioned I would never have bought it. There are only ~5 songs that I would have bought right away had this been an ordinary week of DLC.

Like grace_pressure said, let's wait until Monday.

We don't have any updates at the moment because tournaments literally just ended. Winners haven't even been contacted and prizing hasn't even been sent out yet. We'll post if and when we have an update, but we're waiting on dev feedback, processing prizing, and prepping for PAX East and GDC next week so it's not the top priority right now. Trust that we've heard you, that we've lobbied for the things you've asked for, and we'll give you more info when we have more info.
He didn't actually give a date, so don't worry.

FYI it's still "most likely" tomorrow, not a definite. We've trying to get a coder to commit to fixing this while he's on the road so it's not set in stone. If we know for sure it's happening tomorrow we'll try to give notice. If it happens before we get in then we'll confirm once we hear back from them. And if it looks like it has to wait until he's back in the office next week then we'll update then as well.

Basically, it's going to happen, it's just a matter of when we'll be able to get that coder time.
