    My RB4 Setlist (First Attempt)

I'm gonna try making a setlist. Since this is a first try, It'll be revised it a lot.

I do take criticism. This setlist is far from perfect. I simply picked songs I know that I thought would be great in RB.

    The 50's (1 Song)
    The 60's (11 Songs)
    The 70's (38 Songs)
    The 80's (24 Songs)
    The 90's (24 Songs)
    The 00's (25 Songs)
    The 10's (3 Songs)

That's a lot of 70s. And I feel like there's less 90s-2010s. There are people who will want more of that.

Buuuuuuuuuuuuut... I like it as it stands. I like your 50s to 80s setlist.

This setlist is far from Final. I am probably going to be open to stuff that people suggest for more 90's and 2000's. As for 2010's, I feel that 3 songs is about enough for a decade that is relatively young.

I'm surprised people aren't b*tching about Cassandra Gemini being the song by The Mars Volta I picked as it is EXTREMELY long (about 33 minutes). However, it was one of the songs by a new artist that I could think of that would qualify as an all-devils song. I was kinda going about the excuse that as RB4 will more likely than not be on the next generation of consoles, we would be able to make a larger setlist and have a greater average track length (one or two epics).

I'll add some songs to the 80's, 90's, and 00's this afternoon.

Okay. I've tiered the following 26 songs in the setlist via NearlyLifeLike's site. I'll be uploading them all tonight. I plan to do the rest of the setlist within the next week. Here are the 26 I did...
    • Johnny B. Goode
    • Layla
    • After Midnight
    • Cassandra Gemini
    • Bat Out Of Hell
    • Heroin
    • Paradise City
    • (You Gotta) Fight For You Right (To Party!)
    • Tunnel Of Love
    • Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'
    • Kill The King
    • Rock Bottom (Live)
    • Victim Of Changes (Live)
    • Paranoid Android
    • Rock The Night
    • Like A Rolling Stone
    • Symptom Of The Universe
    • Tommy The Cat
    • I Wanna Rock
    • Takin' Care Of Business
    • Cemetary Gates
    • Come Sail Away
    • Beat It
    • Born To Be Wild
    • Cars
    • As He Creates, So He Destroys

And the tiers are uploaded. And yes, Cassandra Gemini is ALL DEVILS!!!! So it is the new hardest song across the full band in Rock Band if I had my way.

    Two things:

1: Sound Chaser? I love you.

2: Implying Beat It wouldn't be devil-tiered on vocals.

I see Gary Numan on this list, so I am already happy with it. Good job including him; one of my favorite electronica artists.

Also, I don't think you should include more than one song without guitar on a setlist. If you want it to be realistic, that is. RB3 is the only game to have a song without guitar, and I think having more than one on an on-disc list is stretching it. Aside from Cars and Gangnam Style, there may be more.

Oh, you spelled Lionel Richie's last name wrong, and you didn't capitalize the T in Chuck Berry is On Top on Johnny B Goode's tier.

I agree. I heard a few songs by them last summer (three from Elizium and Blue Water) and the only sound I can compare them to is The Cure circa Disintegration. Only a good deal darker.

Sound Chaser is probably one of the few songs by Yes that would be balanced enough for an on-disc setlist, isn't more than ten minutes long, is from their 70's prime, and would still be a challenge. That is why I picked it. That and I regard Yes with the same reverence that most people regard Muse with on the RB forums.

And Beat It isn't a devil on vocals. Maybe it should be, though. I might change it.

Well, I probably will be switching out songs whenever I see them.

Also, I'm surprised nobody is saying "TOO LONG FOR ON-DISC" about Cassandra Gemini because it lasts for over a half-hour.

And LOL, you're right. I can't believe that I didn't catch that. I'll correct Richie right quick. And I'll correct Johnny B. Goode whenever I do some more tier's tomorrow.

And in case anyone didn't notice, After Midnight's tiers are reflective of the 1988 re-recording that Clapton did for a popular beer commercial. The version on the 1970 album "Eric Clapton" is noticeably faster in tempo and is significantly shorter than the '88 version. However, I heard the '88 version and wanted to put it in the game. The album art is the 1970 album because (as far as I am aware of), Clapton never put the '88 version on any of his albums.

Yeah...you should definitely swap out the song over a half-hour. I know you love really long songs (I've seen the stuff you requested in some tier threads ;P) but it would be completely pointless for you to include a song that long in this setlist if you're trying to make it realistic. The longest Harmonix has gone was just under 10 minutes.

Also thanks for correcting those. I have a good eye so I'll tell you if I spot any more. xP

EDIT: Cemetery Gates is spelled wrong

Yeah, this is the first attempt. Think of it as a rough draft to an essay. There will be imperfections. I am eventually going to swap out the song that is over a half-hour long, but for now, that song is going to be a placeholder for THAT ONE SONG that is devils on all instruments (and just listening to it, it obviously deserves that ranking) that will last until I can find a different song that fits that bill. And won't require me to have to stretch it as badly as Llama's vocal tiering.

EDIT: I found the song I will be swapping out. It will be Golaith, also by The Mars Volta. Was earlier tiered by GandWuser and was devils on everything. It will work.
