Using Alesis DM8 and ION Brain HELP

Hi, so I've had an Alesis DM8 drum kit for a while, and I want to hook it up to rockband. I've tried the Mad Catz adapter, but the Alesis brain doesn't have an MIDI out. So I got to thinking, everything on the kit has a 1/4 input on them. (cymbals, toms, snare, bass) I'm thinking like this: Get an ION drum brain, and a Kickbox (I read somewhere that the output of the kickpad doesn't output the right signal, so the kickbox makes it usable for the ion brain) then get a couple of male to male 1/4 cables, and plug everything into the ion brain. Will this work?

If anyone has knowledge on this, or can tell me if my idea will work or not, please respond.

That's pretty much it. I believe you can also use 1/4" splitters so that you can have both brains hooked up at the same time, so you don't have to deal with cable swapping.

You are right about needing the Kickbox (or Kickwire), the ION is looking for an on/off signal, kick triggers spit out an analog signal just like the other pads. Kickbox/wire convers between the two.

Thank you, I have another question, on rockbandparts, there's two different type of kickboxes I see. The regular kickbox, and the Roadie VTI Box. does it matter what one I use, is one better than the other?

If I were you I wouldn't order from rockbandparts, you can search about them on this site to see what I am talking about, I've ordered from this guy twice and they are great

Thanks for letting me know. I just read about rockbandparts taking months at a time to ship something. I will for sure use that site instead.
