Excellent to hear, it will suck a bit to have no new pro upgrades for awhile but the wait will be worth it I feel.
These songs would suck on pro guitar anyway,

Didn't see it as bashing, as you are correct that most people think that the RBN is a third world country
For PS3 players like me, it is. Plus there is way too much metal out there compared to other genres, IMO. I am not a fan of metal at all. I know that many are, and it is good for them. I have been waiting for the rest of Pac Man Fever for ages, but all the PS3 keeps getting is mostly metal. I am glad that John Parr has started using RBN, and hope to see those songs soon on the PS3. I would love to see more big name bands or former big name bands on RBN, but until I see some, RBN will always be a quite occasional buy for me because we only play songs that people are familiar with.

So I just checked, and not only is this DLC still showing in the store, but the MCR pack still shows as Currently Unavailable. Odd.

If Blitz doesn't count as a 25-song week, none of these weeks should count as 2-song weeks. The only week that actually had 2 songs (not counting RBN because it smells funny) was the one that immediately followed 6 songs.

    PS3 RBN2.0 releases:

    Alternative - 22
    Blues - 4
Classic Rock - 2 (and it'll be 3 with John Parr once the pre-loads are finished)
Classical - 8 (aka 100 percent of the Classical offerings on RBN2 at all)
    Country - 5
Emo - 1 (only such song in RBN2)
    Hip Hop/Rap - 1
    Indie Rock - 10
Latin - 1 (only such song)
Metal - 143 (hand-count, might be off by a couple...and easily that many lie unported)
    New Wave - 2
    Novelty - 8
    Nu-Metal - 5
    Other - 1
    Pop-Rock - 31
    Pop/Dance/Electronic - 22
    Prog - 42
    Punk - 9
    R&B/Soul/Funk - 1
    Reggae/Ska - 6 (only one lies unported)
    Rock - 81

Maybe we're talking about different RBN's here, because I see plenty of non-metal here. I've discovered some awesome stuff through RBN, both metal and not. I'd be more than happy to give you some recommendations of awesome (and cheap) stuff to explore, but I'm guessing you're happier complaining about it.

What's wrong with metal anyway? Is it the death growls? I'm not a huge fan, either (can take 'em in moderation) but not every song has them, of course.

I agree, but it feels like we are now being penalized for that volume. IMO HMX should have released the Blitz songs as one lump sum along with a couple new songs similar to the 2nd Green Day release. HMX said that they heard their customers when they released 1 new GD song with a couple of songs from the GD game. To me this is worse, because it is stretched out over a longer period of time. A game like RB only stays fresh if there is variety and volume of new songs to play. I understand that demand has dwindled, but I see the reduced volume as creating even less demand. My parties have all but stopped. My wife and I still play, but that is getting less frequent--generally only when new songs come out that we like.

I think you're talking about the very same RBN based on the numbers you listed. He didn't say there was only metal, he said there was too much metal compared to other genres. In your list, Metal leads at 143, the next highest is at 81, and the third highest is at 42. That corresponds exactly to what he said.
