Question Green Day RB Plus - Slipcovers?

This might sound like a bizarre thread, but I am a collector and like to have all of my discs in pristine condition.

One weird and annoying thing I noticed about Green Day Rock Band Plus, is that the paper slipcover that comes with it has sticky anti-theft things placed over both openings (top/bottom), and if you try to remove those, it destroys the paper. Literally rips all the ink off. And now that the game's out of print, I can't find any floating around - I am not going to buy a new copy of the game just to get a slipcover.

Has anyone spotted any copies either that don't have the sticky plastic tabs or where those can be easily removed without ripping off all the ink? I own GDRB+ for both Xbox 360 and PS3, both of them have the same problem - and my slipcovers for both are slightly destroyed as a result.

I'm assuming Harmonix has nothing to do with this, it would probably more be EA or whatever company produced the physical hard copies that went to stores.

As another side question, does anyone own GDRB+ with a good-condition slip cover who doesn't want it anymore? I wouldn't mind trading slip-covers to get a better condition one.

To my knowledge, GDRB was the only title in the series to have any sort of slip cover.

Blerg. I've been there before with movies and albums and games with odd slipcovers or other unique packaging.

Wish we could help, but we've long since blown through our press / community giveaway / charity allotment here at HMX.

My guess is that EA no longer has warranty copies in stock, but that would be a decent place to start. Otherwise, someplace like eBay or Craigslist would be worth checking out for cheap copies. Good luck!

Assuming I know what you mean by slipcover (just, the cover insert?) mine (PS3) is in perfect condition.

Oh. Maybe I don't know what you mean, then.

There is an actual paper cover outside of the plastic box. A lot of movie/game studios do that to make their sets more appealing, GDRB+ has a little pop-out 3D feel on the title of the game. Here, I'll provide a picture:

And this is what happened when I tried to peel off one of the plastic stickers:

On a semi-related note, since when does Rock Band have blood in it? That rating is just a bit odd if you ask me.

Oh, that thing. I actually got mine for $5 off because that thing was already torn to pieces when I picked it up in the store. Basically made it $5 extra for export + DLC (I already had one of the two 21st Century Breakdown packs, but I was pleased to get the other) which was a deal I couldn't possibly pass up. I chucked the slip cover as soon as I was out of the store.

    So yeah, can't help, sorry

Yeah, I'm sure a lot of people did similar. I couldn't even find any good looking copies of the game on eBay (at least for PS3), one listing was for the disc only, but of course the disc is fine. (Blu-Ray discs are pretty much indestructible)

    Anyone else?

I'll see what condition mine is in when I get home. I like the movie slip-covers but I'm not particularly partial to the video game covers.
It's all right. Everything will work out fine.

The ratings descriptions can also refer to references in lyrics, which is apparently where the "fantasy violence" in Blitz comes from.
