    Hi HMX Henry

I have been a loyal Rock Band Fan since day 1!
Bought all track packs, and continue to buy DLC on a weekly basis!
I think we are ALL looking for a bone here on the fate of Rock Band, and i think you did post a question to Hogan one time if "Rock Band is dead or not?" then you came out with a surprise announcement, and sorry that i forget what it was,and where it would be in these forums!
so my question is this and will be quite blunt about it, We want to know if there will be something for the Rock Band game this year, using our instruments?
And will Harmonix release the BEATLES songs bi weekly as well ,just like green day, country packs and Blitz?

You know, the more I've been thinking about it, I think there's a bit of overreacting and assumption going on.

HMX has said they aren't increasing or decreasing DLC output. While there aren't as many people to work on DLC as there was in the past due to secret projects, they haven't outright said they're stopping production altogether.

I'm wondering if (and this is a big IF) once the secret projects are in the can they'll be reapproriating resources back to RB. Because, from the way things are worded, they aren't slowing down due to lack of DLC sales but due to lack of people to work on it because they need them working on the secret projects.

This post is probably just nonsense and is me trying to look on the brightside. Feel free to rip into it.
May 20th, 2012: 4 long years since HMX released "Hysteria" by Muse. The wait for more Muse DLC has to end at some point, right?

If they weren't slowing down due to sales, then they could hire other poeple to continue the job. It's not like they're aren't thousands of college kids graduating around that time with the dream of working in the gaming field.

If it was signifiacantly profitable there wouldn't be a reallocation of resources.

It's great to keep a positive attitude, in RB and in life in general, but in this case I strongly believe that your positivity should be focused on all we got out of Rock Band over the years. It's a little too soon to announce it officially, but they have hinted as broadly as they can that they only have plans for DLC through March 19th.

There will still be RBN releases for Xbox 360 for an indefinite period after that, there's something to be positive about.
    PSN ID: SilverSpg
Total Song Library = 1,010 songs, including ALL games and track packs that can be exported into RB3

Thanks so much for 5+ years of RB support!

As outlined in the initial post, none of the games we currently have in development are Rock Band titles or instrument peripheral based titles. Since they are not in development at this time, no, you should not expect to see an RB / peripheral based title this year.

We don't have any plans to release TB:RB songs as DLC. Licensing agreements for each title are different, so re releases are not always a given (as we've seen with RB1, RB2, RB3, LRB and TB:RB). Beyond that, we've always positioned TB:RB as a kind of "walled garden" where the songs are unique to the game and the animations and the menus, and so on. We appreciate that people would like those songs with the rest of their RB library, but there's a serious disconnect with having a mohawked behemoth singing Beatles songs in a dingy rock club that's not really a part of what TB:RB was about.

HMX, IF you guys were allowed to have the Beatles songs exported to the main series, would you? That last response from Henry makes me think that it wouldn't happen all because of different characters playing Beatles tunes. Really, what's the big deal about that? Look at all the artists that have been featured in RB, and who knows if some of them felt just a little uncomfortable with RB characters playing their music. We've even seen solo material from 2 of the Beatles themselves in the main series (and arguably the most important ones of the Beatles), so the whole character thing can't be an issue at all.

I'm NOT asking for Beatles: RB material to be exported. Obviously that's a lost cause now. That's just something I needed to get out of my head.

One more suggestion for the eventual final DLC: If any of it has swearing, don't censor it. Do what Guitar Hero did with their last DLC. Did anyone complain? NOPE. With the relatively small community RB has now, I don't think anyone will give a s**t, either. >: D (Get it? S**t. The word GH allowed in some of their last DLC.)

First and foremost, I'd like to thank hmxhenry and everyone at Harmonix for making a game that is so great that I've played it at least once a week since Nov 20th 2007 (and, on occasion, up to 7 days a week). The fact that you we able to create a game that anyone was willing to play that much for over 5 years is a testament to your vision and your success as game creators and designers.

I'm not going to lie to you, I'm going to be really sad once the DLC stops. It's been a part of my life and has become a weekly routine for me that I don't think any other game will ever be able to duplicate. The anticipation of the Friday DLC reveal and the excitement of getting home from work on Tuesday to download the new songs and try them out made me feel like a little kid again. I'm 40 years old, having something like that to make you feel like a little kid again is pretty special. I'd pay up to $10 for songs if it meant I could keep the DLC coming forever, but I know that's not a possibility. Business decisions have to be made and businesses have to be profitable.

I'll never stop loving your game. Thanks for all the fun and music.

    Some posts are utterly dramatic.

I've read almost everything. Although we understand the production of new tracks is slowing down, hmxhenry never confirmed the DLC is officially ending next march. I could live with a monthly release for the next year.

But I gotta admit that I spend 50$ in the Music Store last week, hoping to boost their numbers and make them change their mind, eh... cause I just bought a brand new and expensive Roland TD-15KV and knowing the drumset was compatible with Rock Band was a major plus.
