Consider Wilco before this album had more in common with this and after they had a bit more stride with this before you make quick paintings of what Wilco is. This is definitely their most down to earth and minimalistic, there is a lot of heartfelt songwriting in Yankee Hotel Foxtrot and to ignore it is just something incorrect to do. Also, not to be crass; but metareviewing when you are tired in the late wheels of the night is a bad decision and you need to stop it now. Wilco is one of the best bands of it's movement, which includes greats like Whiskeytown, The Cardinals, Son Volt, Uncle Tupelo, & The Jayhawks.

I think the point Gowie is making is it seems odd to pass judgment (particular public judgment) on albums of some repute around these parts (or any album really) without your head not all together.

Ehh we're just trying to enjoy some albums we haven't heard before. If late at night is when we can both do it then it's when it will be done. It shouldn't be taken too seriously. Even if I was fully awake I doubt Wilco would have gone over much better. If all of the brilliance is in the lyrics then it would take a few listens for them to sink in for me.


Also STM hasn't posted Albert King and ZZ Top yet. We did those last night.
