What I don't get is the people who buy both an iPod and an iPhone. Aren't they are basically the same thing other than the fact that the iPod can't make phone calls.

Oddly enough, I have an iPod Touch that I keep around almost exclusively for apps. (I listen to music on my phone, thanks to Google Music, but there's a lot of mobile games that are iOS-only, so the iPod serves its purpose.)

With my carrier (T-Mobile), if you buy the phone unlocked or bring in your own unlocked phone, you get a lower monthly bill.

I'm only paying $50 a month for an unlimited plan as a result, whereas my brother (who took a carrier-subsidized phone) pays $70.

I've been watching my Lord of the Rings Blu-rays. As I sometimes do when I watch movies and TV, I googled around on image search. I entered some pretty innocuous LOTR-related search terms, with safe search on, and got some pretty disturbing ****.

For instance, "the white wizard." Google if you really must know what I'm talking about, but I think I need to go wash my eyes out now....
