Maybe, maybe not. Contacting them through the non-emergency line and letting them know you've had prowlers in the area lets patrol units know which areas to do stop and talks. So, if it's say, two in the morning and I see a guy walking down the street a block from your house, I can stop him and try to establish what he's doing there. Often this leads to an arrest. (They may have warrants or be on probation/parole)

It doesn't hurt to make a phone call.

Sometimes it's all too easy to miss something that's right under your nose.

Also, with both of our kids throwing hissy fits, I've never been happier to go to work. That upstairs office is a real sanctuary sometimes.
